Hi, I’m Harriet
I’m a London-based writer, artist, activist and public speaker.
I’m most at home writing about UK politics and mental health, but I also enjoy covering LGBTQ+ issues, lifestyle trends and TV.
I’m a big fan of 80s punk, horror films of all varieties, Newcastle Brown and tortoiseshell cats (well, any kind of cats really).
I’m a safe pair of hands for reporting, features, personal and opinion writing, and I’ve been working in journalism as both a freelancer and a staff writer for the past seven years.
My work has been featured in The Guardian, New Statesman, The Sunday Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Huffington Post, Novara Media, VICE, Buzzfeed UK, Foreign Policy, Dazed, Metro.co.uk and The Mirror.
I’ve previously made appearances on BBC News, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, BBC1’s The Big Questions, BBC Radio Wales and Radio 5Live
I’m also a copywriter, with clients including Artefact and Abel & Cole.
I’ve finally plucked up the courage to sell my art and you can find examples of my work on Instagram here.
